Job summary

Pulaski County High in Somerset, Kentucky is seeking a Cook to prepare, cook, bake, and serve a variety of foods in the school kitchen. You will assist in other food preparation duties, maintain facilities in a clean and sanitary condition, and train and provide work direction to others.

Responsibilities include portioning, cooking meat and vegetable dishes, preparing baked goods, monitoring temperatures, serving meals, storing leftovers, and helping with inventory and record-keeping for meals

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED and one year of cooking/baking experience.
• Must complete training for certification of beginning school food personnel as prescribed in 702 KAR 6:045.

Responsibilities

• Prepare, cook, bake, and serve foods in quantity at a school site.
• Assist in other food preparation duties and maintain a clean, sanitary kitchen.
• Train and provide work direction to others and assist with inventory records.
• Record amounts of foods sold and monies collected; monitor temperatures for safety.
• Assist with special events and banquets as needed.
