Red Rabbit is seeking an in-school prep cook to join a 3-5 person kitchen team, preparing healthy scratch-made meals for hundreds of students daily in our Bronx schools.

The role offers stable day hours, Monday–Friday, with weekends/holidays off, and hourly compensation of $17.00–$19.00. ServeSafe certification is required within 90 days; strong food-safety and teamwork are essential.

Qualificações

• 2+ years professional culinary experience in a high-volume setting.
• Demonstrated knowledge of proper food safety and sanitation.
• Familiar with industrial kitchen equipment and maintain it properly.
• ServeSafe Certificate required; training reimbursed if needed.
• Able to read/write in English; bilingual a plus.
• Able to lift 50 lbs regularly and stay organized.

Responsabilidades

• Read production sheets to plan daily food quantities.
• Prioritize production with Head Chef to meet schedules.
• Portion and weigh food per recipes and guidelines.
• Cook, cool, and plate food per recipes and safety rules.
• Pack and distribute meals to students on time.
• Count and track food produced to reduce waste and ensure compliance.
• Maintain clean stations to exceed health standards.
• Represent Red Rabbit with professionalism and courtesy.
• Other duties as assigned.
