Job summary

Red Rabbit in Philadelphia is seeking a Prep Cook to join a 5–10 person team and help prepare healthy, scratch-made meals for hundreds of children daily. Stable daytime hours with weekends and holidays off support work-life balance.

You will read production menus, cook scratch-made dishes, portion accurately, and plate within tight school timetables, while counting quantities to minimize waste and keep the kitchen compliant with health standards.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of professional culinary experience in a high-volume kitchen or similar environment.
• Demonstrated knowledge of proper food safety and sanitation practices.
• Experience using/maintaining industrial kitchen equipment.
• ServeSafe Certification required or in progress.

Responsibilities

• Read daily production menus and understand the type and quantity of food to prepare.
• Cook, plate, and portion food according to recipes and guidelines.
• Pack and distribute meals to students adhering to portion guidelines and school timing.
• Count and track food produced to minimize waste and ensure compliance with health standards.
• Maintain clean, organized workstations and equipment to meet Department of Health standards.
• Represent Red Rabbit values with professionalism and courtesy during interactions.
