Red Rabbit is seeking an experienced in-school chef to join our team across multiple New York locations. You will prepare and serve scratch-made, culturally relevant meals for hundreds of students daily, in a fast-paced kitchen, ensuring quality, safety, and timely service.

The role emphasizes meticulous food safety, meal presentation, and collaboration with a small team of 3–7 kitchen staff. Weekdays only, with most major holidays off, supporting our mission of dignified, healthy school meals.

Qualifications

• 3+ years in a fast-paced kitchen.
• Strong cooking skills and ability to follow recipes.
• Knowledge of proper food safety and sanitation.
• Ability to organize prep and service tasks.
• Excellent communication and reliability.
• Ability to work independently and with a team.
• Comfort using software or spreadsheets to log data.
• Food safety certification for location or willing to obtain it.

Responsibilities

• Prepare culturally relevant, scratch-made meals.
• Follow recipes and maintain high-quality meals.
• Ensure food safety, sanitation, and logs.
• Present meals attractively for students.
• Coordinate with school staff and managers.
