Red Rabbit is seeking an In-School Lead Cook to join a 3–5 person team, preparing scratch-made meals for 750+ children daily. This daytime role, with weekends/holidays off, reports to the Head Chef in the Bronx, NY, and offers a $19–$22/hour compensation with potential annual raise.

You will manage high-volume production, read production sheets, weigh portions, and ensure quality and safety. Join us to improve school nutrition and health.

Qualifications

• 3+ years in a fast-paced culinary role or high-volume production.
• Able to consistently prepare 500+ meals.
• Strong food safety and sanitation knowledge.
• Familiar with industrial kitchen equipment.
• Self-motivated, organized and able to work in a team.

Responsabilités

• Own a high standard of consistency and quality for every batch.
• Work autonomously using a prep list.
• Prioritize daily menu production with Head Chef.
• Read production sheets to plan food quantities.
• Portion and weigh food according to recipes and NLSP guidelines.
• Assist with cooking, cooling, and plating per recipes and NJ guidelines.
• Assist with packing and counting as needed.
• Ensure DOH standards are met by cleaning work stations and equipment.
