Job summary

The Alamance-Burlington Schools Human Resources department seeks a dedicated HR Specialist to provide staffing and employment support for assigned schools and departments. You will coordinate recommendations, onboarding, and personnel actions, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and timely processing.

This role requires meticulous attention to detail, strong communication, and collaboration with Payroll and school leaders to support district staffing and student success.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent and two-years related work experience OR Associate’s Degree and two years of working experience
• Two or more years of progressively responsible experience in Human Resources, payroll, staffing, office administration, or a related field
• Demonstrated experience working with detailed records, databases, transactions, or other information requiring a high degree of accuracy
• Demonstrated experience providing customer service and managing multiple priorities and deadlines

Responsibilities

• Serve as the primary staffing support contact for assigned schools and district departments
• Review employment recommendations and supporting documentation for accuracy and completeness
• Coordinate onboarding and new-hire processing with candidates and administrators
• Prepare and submit personnel actions and maintain staffing records
• Ensure timely completion of payroll-related and personnel transactions
• Maintain confidentiality of employee information
