Job summary

Halifax Regional Centre for Education seeks a Custodian to help maintain clean, safe school facilities. You will perform cleaning and light maintenance with professionalism and adherence to HRCE policies.

The role reports to the Caretaker and Building Management Supervisor, and may require working day, evening or night shifts. Priority is given to applicants from under-represented groups as part of equitable hiring.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED.
• Ability to lift 50 lbs.
• Basic computer skills.
• Able to work day, evening and night shifts.
• Previous janitorial experience is an asset.

Responsibilities

• Maintain clean, sanitary and attractive school facilities.
• Perform cleaning and maintenance duties in a professional, efficient and safe manner.
• Follow policies and procedures of the HRCE.
