Job summary

Halifax Regional Centre for Education (HRCE) is seeking a Custodian to support the Operations Services Department by maintaining a clean, sanitary and attractive school environment. The role reports to the Caretaker and aligns with Building Management supervision.

The position operates under the NSUPE collective agreement and may adjust hours to accommodate applicants who hold multiple part-time positions. HRCE emphasizes inclusive hiring and compliance with applicable agreements.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Ability to lift 50lbs to perform janitorial duties.
• Basic computer skills required.
• Willing to work day, evening and night shifts.
• Previous janitorial experience is an asset.

Responsibilities

• Perform cleaning and maintenance duties to ensure a clean, sanitary and attractive school environment.
• Operate in accordance with HRCE policies and procedures and collaborate with the Caretaker and Building Management Supervisor.
• Support safety and efficiency in daily operations within the department.
