Job summary

Johnston County Public Schools is seeking a 12-month custodian at Archer Lodge Middle School in Wendell, NC. Under the Principal, you will perform custodial and light groundskeeping tasks, including floor cleaning, restroom maintenance, trash disposal, and basic maintenance.

Starting immediately, the role requires ability to lift 25–50 lbs, comply with safety rules, and may involve supervising others. A Class B CDL is required or ability to obtain it, with a full-time schedule.

Qualifications

• General knowledge of cleaning methods, materials, and equipment.
• Ability to supervise and work effectively with others.

Responsibilities

• Sweep, mop, vacuums, strips, waxes and buffs floor surfaces.
• Cleans restroom areas and replenishes supplies and soap.
• Empties trash receptacles and polices grounds.
• Replaces burned-out light bulbs.
• May turn on/off lights and adjust heating/AC.
• Performs minor maintenance and other duties as assigned.
