Job summary

Johnston County Public Schools’ Wilson's Mills High School in Smithfield, North Carolina is hiring a Custodian for a 12-month term. The role involves general custodial and light groundskeeping tasks, floor care, restroom cleaning, and supplies requisitioning, under supervision of the Principal.

Responsibilities include entering/exiting facilities, basic maintenance, lighting adjustments, and event setup. Candidates must meet physical requirements and be eligible for CDL class B where applicable.

Qualifications

• General knowledge of cleaning methods, materials, and equipment.
• Must be able to lift 25–50 lbs. without assistance.
• Must be eligible to obtain a Class B Commercial Driver's License.
• Term: 12 months.
• Reports To: Principal.

Responsibilities

• Sweep, mop, vacuum, strip, wax, and buff floors.
• Clean restrooms; replenish supplies and dispose of waste.
• Clean windows, walls, woodwork, blinds, and fixtures.
• Dust and clean desks and furniture.
• Polish sidewalks and grounds; snow/ice removal as needed.
