Job summary

Martin County Middle School in Williamston, North Carolina invites applications for a 12-month Custodian. The role starts as soon as possible and reports to the Principal or Maintenance Director, with supervision under general guidelines.

Responsibilities include general custodial duties, cleaning floors, restrooms, windows, and grounds; bus driving may be required to support transportation operations per policy 4701. This is a non-exempt, full-time position.

Qualifications

• General knowledge of standard janitorial methods, materials and equipment.
• Knowledge of cleaning procedures and the use of cleaning materials.
• Ability to follow instructions and perform medium physical work.

Responsibilities

• Sweeps, mops, vacuums, strips, waxes and buffs floors.
• Cleans and disinfects restrooms and replenishes supplies.
• Cleans windows, walls, woodwork and fixtures; dusts furniture.
• Empties trash and maintains cleanliness of interior spaces.
• Cares for grounds and performs light maintenance as needed.
• May operate building security and utilities tasks as assigned.
