Job summary

LifeWise Academy seeks a part-time, non-exempt vehicle driver to transport students and volunteers to and from LifeWise sites. The role emphasizes safe driving, adherence to traffic laws, and maintaining bus safety and cleanliness.

Applicants must hold a valid driver's license with a clean five-year record, meet age requirements (21–80), and pass background and drug tests. CDL with passenger endorsement may be required for 15-passenger vehicles, with additional documentation for drivers over 75.

Qualifications

• A mature personal Christian faith in agreement with the LifeWise Academy Statement of Faith.
• Active participation in a local church whose doctrine aligns with the LifeWise Academy Statement of Faith.
• Regular driver's license and a record of continuous licensing for the past three years.
• Appropriate special licenses: CDL with endorsement for driving a passenger vehicle (P) for vehicles seating more than 15 passengers; no license required for 15-passenger vans.
• Age between 21 and 80; drivers over 75 require additional documentation (Physician's Statement or CDL license with endorsement and annual submission).
• Clean driving record with no at-fault accidents or traffic citations in the last five years.
• Background check through LifeWise Academy.
• Yearly Physician's Statement for known medical conditions (underwriter-approved).
• Drug and/or alcohol testing as required (pre-employment, annual random, and post-accidents).

Responsibilities

• Transport children and LifeWise volunteers to and from the LifeWise site.
• Obey traffic laws.
• Maintain cleanliness and mechanical safety of the bus.
• Perform regular bus inspections.
• Refuel the vehicle as needed.
• Create and maintain a safe environment for children; enforce safety rules and assist students entering/exiting the vehicle.
• Volunteer in LifeWise classroom if agreed with the Director.
