Job summary

Calvert County Public Schools in Maryland is seeking a Building-Based Restorative Practices Facilitator for Saint Leonard Elementary School. The role supports MTSS by training staff and implementing restorative practices to foster belonging, improve climate, and enhance academic mindsets.

The facilitator will partner with administrators and the district restorative practices team to plan, train, and assess progress, with grant funding for 1 year.

Qualifications

• Two-day Restorative Practices Training completed.
• Deep understanding of restorative approaches and the importance of staff-student relationships.
• Ability to foster a proactive, supportive classroom climate through restorative methods.
• Strong communication and leadership within a school setting.
• Willingness to engage in quarterly after-school training with district staff.

Responsibilities

• Assist building leadership with the Restorative Practices Action Plan.
• Attend initial training and quarterly facilitator meetings.
• Develop plans to train existing and new staff in restorative practices.
• Maintain records of trained staff through the Professional Learning Platform.
• Collaborate with admin and behavioral/mental health teams to engage students in restorative conversations.
• Provide consultation to teachers on implementing restorative approaches.
• Deliver brief professional development sessions as directed.
• Maintain communication with Department of Student Services leaders.
• Submit evidence of implementation activities to the Department of Student Services.
