Job summary

Vernon Johns Middle School is seeking a Restorative Practices Facilitator to support students in an alternative-to-suspension program. You will deliver restorative and social-emotional support, help students complete assignments, and prepare them for reintegration into the regular school setting.

You will lead group sessions, track progress, and coordinate with teachers and counselors to ensure academic success.

Qualifications

• Education: High School Diploma or GED required.
• Experience with individual and/or group therapy sessions, students with behavior issues, providing research-driven interventions and behavior modification strategies.
• QMHP-C certification preferred, but not required.

Responsibilities

• Lead the full schedule for the day including group sessions and personalized attention to support students with disciplinary infractions.
• Track student performance data and provide 1:1 support while students are in attendance.
• Coordinate schedule to rotate students to program staff for additional support and conversations.
• Mentor and act as a role model of appropriate behavior and morals to encourage positive social change.
• Use facilitation skills to maintain a safe space while assisting communication between participants during restorative practice.
• Ensure a meaningful schedule of events to maximize student support.
• Provide daily Social Emotional Learning curriculum and opportunities to practice skills in a safe space.
• Provide mediation with peers to restore relationships upon return to the comprehensive setting.
• Incorporate college and career readiness activities to help students pursue short and long term goals.
• Provide leadership lessons and guest speakers to promote positive behaviors and outcomes.
• Collaborates with the program social worker, counselor, general education and special education teachers to ensure proper support for academic success.
