Job summary

The SC Department of Behavioral Health and Developmental Disabilities (BHDD) seeks a Mental Health Professional I to deliver school-based mental health services in Lexington County. Based at the Lexington County Community Mental Health Center, you will conduct assessments, individual/family/group therapy, and crisis intervention for students referred to the School Mental Health program.

You will collaborate with school staff, participate in supervision, maintain documentation, and pursue

Qualifications

• Masters’ degree required in guidance, counseling, or social sciences or related field.
• Must be licensed or eligible to become licensed as LMSW/LMFT/LPC within six months.
• Experience in school-based mental health is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide clinical assessments, individual/family/group treatment and crisis intervention for students.
• Participate in supervision, treatment teams, and professional development; apply evidence-based practices.
• Provide consultation and training to school partners on mental health topics as needed.
• Complete documentation per QA/BHDD-OMH standards and ensure timely authorizations.
• Attend required trainings and adhere to CARF and BHDD/OMH policies.
