Job summary

SC Department of Behavioral Health and Developmental Disabilities (BHDD) seeks a Mental Health Professional I to provide school-based mental health counseling at Irmo High School in Lexington. You will deliver assessments, individual, family and group therapy, plus crisis intervention, under supervision to support student wellness.

The role requires a master’s in a related field, SC licensure or eligibility within six months, and the ability to manage direct patient care.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in guidance, counseling, the social sciences or a related field.
• Licensed or eligible for licensure in SC and willing to pursue licensure within six months.
• Ability to lift 5lbs and operate a state vehicle.
• Provide direct patient care experience; practicum/internship or post-graduate experience.

Responsibilities

• Provide clinical assessments, individual, family & group treatment, and crisis intervention per program guidelines.
• Participate in supervision, treatment teams, and pursue professional development; use evidence-based practices.
• Offer consultation and training on mental health issues to schools and partners as needed.
• Complete documentation per QA/BHDD-OMH standards and ensure timely prior authorizations.
• Attend required trainings and adhere to CARF, BHDD-OMH and Center policies.
