Job summary

The SC Department of Behavioral Health and Developmental Disabilities (BHDD) is seeking a Mental Health Professional I to provide school-based counseling. This role is located at Lexington County Community Mental Health Center and involves working in Pleasant Hill Elementary and Hill Middle/High Schools.

Under supervision, you will deliver clinical assessments, individual and group therapies, and crisis intervention, following state policies and access-to-care guidelines.

Qualifications

• Masters’ degree in guidance, counseling, or the social sciences.
• Eligible or licensed LMSW/LMFT/LPC within six months after hire (SC).
• Evidence of clinical experience providing direct patient care and practicum/internship details must be provided.

Responsibilities

• Provide clinical assessments, individual, family and group treatment, and crisis intervention services.
• Participate in clinical supervision, treatment team meetings, and pursue professional development.
• Provide consultation and training on mental health issues to schools and community partners.
• Complete documentation per QA/BHDD-OMH standards and ensure timely prior authorizations.
• Attend required trainings and adhere to CARF and BHDD-OMH policies.
