Job summary

SC Department of Behavioral Health and Developmental Disabilities seeks a Mental Health Professional I to provide school-based mental health counseling embedded in Lexington County schools.

Under supervision, you will deliver clinical assessments, individual/family/group treatment, and crisis intervention with 854 hours annually of direct patient care. Requires licensure or progress toward LMSW/LMFT/LP C within 6 months.

Qualifications

• Masters’ degree in guidance, counseling, or the social sciences or a related field.
• Must be licensed or willing and able to become licensed as LMSW, LMFT, or LPC by the state of South Carolina within the first six months of employment.

Responsibilities

• Provide clinical assessments, individual, family and group treatment, and crises intervention services.
• Participate in clinical supervision, treatment team meetings, ongoing professional development and application of evidence-based practices.
• Provide consultation and training to community partners (schools) on mental health issues as needed; respond to non-patient crises in schools.
• Complete documentation in compliance with QA/BHDD-OMH standards and timely prior authorizations.
• Complete annual trainings including Safety, MAPS, and clinical trainings; adhere to CARF standards and BHDD-OMH policies.
