Job summary

State of South Carolina's BHDD is seeking a Mental Health Professional I to deliver school-based mental health services embedded at Irmo High School in Lexington County. Responsibilities include clinical assessments, individual and group treatment, and crisis intervention with support from supervision and adherence to care guidelines.

Qualified candidates hold a master's degree in a related field, and must be licensed or eligible for SC licensure with plans to pursue licensure within six months.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in guidance, counseling, the social sciences or a related field.
• Licensed or eligible for licensure in SC and willing to pursue licensure within six months.
• Ability to lift 5lbs and operate a state vehicle.
• Experience providing direct patient care or practicum/internship in graduate program or post-graduate setting.
• Bilingual abilities in English and Spanish (or another language) are a plus.

Responsibilities

• Provide clinical assessments, individual, family and group treatment, and crisis intervention with direct patient care.
• Participate in supervision, treatment team meetings, and pursue professional development.
• Provide consultation and training on mental health issues to community partners (schools).
• Complete documentation per QA/BHDD-OMH standards and timely prior authorizations.
• Attend required trainings and adhere to CARF, BHDD-OMH and Center policies.
