Job summary

The Stepping Stones Group is seeking a dedicated Behavior Technician to support students in a school-based setting during the 2026-2027 school year. This role blends instructional support with behavioral intervention to help students meet IEP goals and develop social-emotional skills.

You will work alongside teachers, special education staff, behavior specialists, and therapists in PK-12 general and special education classrooms.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 40-hour behavioral training or 6 months ABA experience.
• Experience in special education or behavioral support settings.
• TB test, fingerprinting and background check required.
• Reliable transportation.
• Comfort with toileting and diapering assistance.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to follow school/district procedures.
• US work authorization; English proficiency.

Responsibilities

• Provide 1:1, 2:1, and small-group support during the school day.
• Provide behavioral support and implement BIPs.
• Provide emotional and general academic support.
• Assist with daily living needs (mobility, feeding, toileting, diapering).
• Reinforce positive behaviors using evidence-based practices.
• Help students develop self-regulation, communication, and social skills.
• Collect and document behavioral data and progress.
• Support teachers and classroom aides as needed.
• Assist during transitions and school activities.
• Support IEP goals and classroom accommodations.
• Maintain accurate documentation and confidentiality.
