Job summary

The Stepping Stones Group is seeking dedicated Behavior Technicians to support students in school-based settings for the 2026-2027 year. This full-time role offers $25-$26 per hour, with a 32.5-hour workweek (no evenings or overnights) in a K-12 onsite environment.

You will work with teachers, special education staff, and therapists to support behavioral, academic, and social-emotional goals, implementing IEPs and BIPs. Immediate start through the 2026-27 school year.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 40-hour behavioral training course OR 6 months of ABA experience.
• Ability to complete district fingerprinting and a child abuse and neglect registry clearance (within the last year).
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to follow school, district, and student support procedures.
• Authorization to work in the United States; English proficiency.

Responsibilities

• Provide 1:1, 2:1, and small-group support throughout the school day.
• Provide behavioral support and behavioral intervention; implement Behavior Support Plans and BIPs.
• Provide emotional support and general academic support, including help with assignments.
• Support students with daily needs (mobility, feeding, toileting, diapering).
• Reinforce positive behaviors using evidence-based practices.
• Help students develop self-regulation, communication, and social skills.
• Collect and document behavioral data and student progress.
• Assist the teacher and classroom aides as needed.
• Assist students during transitions, arrival, dismissal, lunch, and recess as assigned.
• Support implementation of IEP goals and classroom accommodations.
• Maintain accurate documentation and student records, and maintain confidentiality.
