Job summary

Family of Kidz in Westchester County, NY is seeking a Behavior Technician for a school-based role. You will work with students with special needs, collaborating with teachers, therapists, and school staff to support learning in the classroom.

The position is part-time (roughly 25–32 hours weekly), follows the school calendar, and offers opportunities for supervision by RBT/BCBA professionals, along with professional development and a supportive team culture.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 6 months working with children or adolescents with special needs in a supervised setting.
• High School Diploma required.
• Successful enrollment in an undergraduate program in psychology, healthcare, or related field preferred.
• Experience with students with autism and/or maladaptive behaviors preferred.

Responsibilities

• Respond to the goals, needs and requests of students and supervisors, on an individualized basis, and in a professional manner.
• Work closely with school personnel (e.g. classroom/ special teachers, TAs, school psychologist, social worker, behavior consultant, related service provider) to ensure the student’s success in the classroom.
• Work collaboratively with a behavior consultant and/or clinical supervisor to provide academic, behavioral, and social/emotional support to student with special needs
• Assist with classroom assignments under the direction of the classroom teacher.
• Implementation of behavior support plans or skill acquisition programs (data collection, progress reporting, CPI training and implementation)
• Help with daily living tasks, such as mobility, hygiene, and transitions.
• Escort the student to different locations (bathroom, cafeteria, therapy sessions).
• Maintain the confidentiality of information regarding students in accordance with State and Federal regulations
• Maintain a safe and inclusive learning environment.
• Understand and demonstrate the company core values.
