Job summary

Family of Kidz is hiring for a Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) for a school-based role in Westchester County, NY. The position operates in a school environment with daytime hours ranging 25–32 hours per week and follows the district calendar.

The ideal candidate has an RBT credential, at least 6 months of relevant experience with children or adolescents with special needs, and a HS diploma. Transportation is required and undergraduate study in psychology or related field is a plus.

Qualifications

• RBT credential mandatory.
• Minimum 6 months working with children or adolescents with special needs in a supervised setting.
• High School Diploma required.
• Reliable transportation required.
• Undergraduate program in psychology/healthcare/education or related field preferred.

Responsibilities

• Respond to the goals, needs and requests of students and supervisors, on an individualized basis, and in a professional manner.
• Work closely with school personnel to ensure the student’s success in the classroom.
• Collaborate with a behavior consultant and/or clinical supervisor to provide academic, behavioral, and social/emotional support to students with special needs.
• Assist with classroom assignments under the direction of the classroom teacher.
• Implement behavior support plans/BIP's or skill acquisition programs (data collection, progress reporting, CPI training).
• Help with daily living tasks, such as mobility, hygiene, and transitions.
• Assist the student with moving between classrooms and other school locations (cafeteria, bathroom, therapy sessions).
• Maintain confidentiality of information regarding students per regulations.
• Maintain a safe and inclusive learning environment.
• Understand and demonstrate the company core values.
