Job summary

Family of Kidz is seeking a Part-Time Behavior Technician for school-based support in Suffolk County, NY. The role involves assisting with academic, behavioral, and social-emotional support within the classroom setting, under supervision.

It requires collaboration with teachers, school staff, and a behavior consultant to promote student success. Hours vary by district (about 25–32 hours/week), following the school calendar.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 6 months working with children or adolescents with special needs in a supervised setting.
• Minimum of High School Diploma required.
• Reliable transportation required.
• Undergraduate program in psychology/healthcare/education or related field preferred.
• Experience with students with autism or maladaptive behaviors preferred.

Responsibilities

• Respond to goals, needs and requests of students and supervisors in a professional manner.
• Collaborate with school personnel to support student success in the classroom.
• Provide academic, behavioral, and social/emotional support with a supervisor.
• Assist with classroom assignments under teacher direction.
• Implement behavior support plans and data collection.
