Job summary

Boys & Girls Clubs of San Leandro is seeking a Program Manager to lead high-quality after-school programming, supervise staff, and manage partnerships with schools and community organizations. You will ensure a safe, engaging, outcome-driven environment that aligns with standards and values, while overseeing staff development and program evaluation.

The role requires 2+ years in youth programming, 1+ year in supervision, strong safety knowledge, and excellent relationship-building skills.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years of experience in after-school programming or youth development.
• Minimum of 1 year in supervisory roles or leading teams.
• Strong understanding of child safety, behavior management, and youth engagement strategies.
• Ability to build positive relationships with school staff, parents, and community partners.
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to multitask and adapt to changing circumstances.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Google Suite, and data management systems (CRM/MyClubHub).
• CPR and First Aid certification (or ability to obtain within 90 days of hire).
• Ability to pass a background check and meet state-mandated requirements for working with youth.

Responsibilities

• Lead after-school site programs, activities, and services to prepare youth for success.
• Supervise and develop the Kinder Care Coordinator and Youth Development Professionals.
• Plan and participate in meetings, trainings, and organizational events.
• Utilize CRM data, compile monthly reports, and conduct site observations to assess program effectiveness.
• Oversee budget and collaborate with schools on safety and cleanliness; assist with grant reporting.
• Develop and maintain relationships with school administrators, parents, and community organizations.
• Promote program and maintain ongoing communication with external stakeholders to strengthen engagement and impact.
