Job summary

The City of Hampton is seeking a School Age Program Manager to lead and oversee day-to-day operations of our School Age Programs. You will manage staff, budgets, resources, and service quality while partnering with the community to provide high-quality before- and after-school care for children and families.

Responsibilities include implementing program goals, supervising staff, handling budgets, and ensuring compliance with laws and best practices.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in social work, psychology, human services or related field.
• Minimum three years of full-time equivalent experience in operation and management of before/after school programs, budgeting, and staff supervision.
• Valid driver’s license and satisfactory driving record per City of Hampton.
• Must pass Child Protective Services Check and other background checks.

Responsibilities

• Lead the implementation and evaluation of School Age Program goals, policies, procedures, and services.
• Supervise, coordinate, and support program staff including coordinators and site leaders.
• Recruit staff, identify training needs, and promote professional development.
• Assist with budget preparation, monitor expenditures, and oversee program resources.
• Maintain quality assurance and continuous improvement efforts to enhance service delivery.
• Develop collaborative relationships with community partners to strengthen services.
• Analyze program data and prepare reports to support planning and decision-making.
• Ensure programs comply with laws, regulations, policies, and best practices.
• Represent the department on committees, boards, and community events.
