Job summary

The City of Hampton invites applications for an experienced School Age Program Manager to lead day-to-day operations of our before- and after-school programs, including oversight of staff, budgets, resources, and service quality.

The role emphasizes building partnerships, ensuring compliance with laws and best practices, and delivering high-quality care for children and families across Hampton.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in social work, psychology, human services, or related field.
• At least 3 years of full-time equivalent experience in operation and management of before/after school programs.
• Must possess a valid driver’s license and maintain satisfactory driving record; background checks required.

Responsibilities

• Lead implementation and evaluation of School Age Program goals, policies, procedures, and services.
• Supervise, coordinate, and support program staff, including Program Coordinators, Lead Facilitators, Site Leaders, Site Aides, and other team members.
• Recruit staff, identify training needs, and promote professional development.
• Assist with budget preparation, monitor expenditures, and oversee program resources.
• Maintain quality assurance and continuous improvement efforts to enhance service delivery.
• Develop collaborative relationships with community partners to strengthen before- and after-school services.
• Analyze program data and prepare reports to support program planning and decision-making.
• Ensure programs remain aligned with applicable laws, regulations, policies, procedures, and industry best practices.
• Represent the department on committees, boards, focus groups, community events, conferences, and workshops.
