Job summary

The Middletown Family YMCA is seeking a School Age Site Assistant to support daily operations and supervise children in a safe, engaging environment.

Responsibilities include plan and participate in classroom activities, document development, and communicate with families. A high school diploma (or equivalent) and relevant training in school-age care are required. This is a part-time, on-site role.

Qualifications

• Must have a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Licensing requires specific training options listed (3 credits; 45 clock hours; 15 clock hours; or Early Childhood Assistant Teacher).
• Ability to pass background checks and health screenings.

Responsibilities

• Supervise children, groups and activities as assigned.
• Provide daily care and support social/emotional needs.
• Engage children in activities and document progress.
• Communicate with families to promote participation and collaboration.
• Maintain a safe, clean, and organized facility and equipment.

Education

High school diploma or equivalent

3 credits in recreation / school-age care

45 clock hours of school-age care training

15 clock hours of school-age care training
