Job summary

Ochsner Health in Louisiana is seeking an experienced appointment scheduling specialist to optimize scheduling processes and improve patient access. You will work with managers, directors, and providers to ensure efficient scheduling in Epic and to develop daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual reports for regional leadership.

Qualifications include a high school diploma or equivalent (Bachelor's preferred), 4 years of clerical operations experience in healthcare, and strong data entry

Qualifications

• Requires high school diploma or equivalent; a bachelor's degree preferred.
• Experience of 4 years in clerical operations within healthcare or related field.
• Technical knowledge of healthcare provider scheduling.
• Certifications such as CHA, CHAA, or medical assisting certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist manager/director with establishing new departments in Epic in a timely manner.
• Notify Epic team of department name and physicians.
• Process provider and ancillary schedules to optimize access for appointment coordinators.
• Meet with managers/directors/providers to adjust practices to patient needs.
• Notify leadership of patients affected by departures for reallocation.
• Perform other related duties as required.
