Job summary

Avera is seeking a Centralized Scheduler in Sioux Falls, SD. This role supports outpatient diagnostic orders, interprets physician requests, and schedules tests per patient care protocols. The position may be remote after a 6–8 month orientation period.

The role requires an Associate's Science in Medical Assisting (or 3–5 years of relevant experience) and offers a part-time schedule with day shifts, 64 hours every two weeks. Benefit-rich environment with CARE values.

Qualifications

• Associate's Science in Medical Assisting from an accredited university/college and/or 3-5 years hospital, medical office, clinic, or hospital business operations experience
• 4-6 years hospital, medical office, clinic, hospital business operations and/or Admitting Department experience
• Must have visual acuity and be able to communicate effectively with others

Responsibilities

• Obtains information (including physician orders to schedule tests/procedures only) from physician offices for scheduling tests, procedures and admissions in an accurate, timely and sequential manner
• Incorporates faxed data, including History and Physical, physician orders, and patient data from physician offices by logging into computer
• Demonstrates good rapport and cooperative working relationship with physician office staff, all hospital departments, physicians, and co-workers
• Assists the Manager in maintaining technology applications including keeping centralized scheduling dictionaries and online instructions, monitoring data integrity, and suggesting upgrades
• Provides timely information to the Manager regarding the Centralized Scheduling process, staffing and customer service
