Qualifications

• Associate's Science in Medical Assisting from an accredited university/college and/or 3-5 years hospital, medical office, clinic, or hospital business operations experience
• Required education and experience for scheduling and medical information handling
• Ability to determine medical necessity validation and input orders into the health information system

Responsibilities

• Respond to outpatient diagnostic orders from physicians for scheduling tests and admissions
• Interpret physician requests and schedule single to multiple tests per patient care protocols
• Maintain data accuracy for scheduling dictionaries, order entry, and system upgrades
• Provide timely information to the Manager on scheduling, staffing, and customer service
• Assist with staff orientation, in-services, and competency attainment
• Maintain confidentiality and ensure compliance with safety regulations
