Job summary

Coastal Waste & Recycling is seeking a Scale Attendant in Florida to operate the truck scale system, process customer transactions, verify materials and account information, and maintain accurate records. You will work with Operations leadership and equipment operators to ensure safe, efficient, and professional facility operations.

The role emphasizes outstanding customer service, precise data handling, and timely communication in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• 1+ years in customer service, admin support, cashiering, logistics, dispatch, or similar.
• Attention to detail with accurate data entry.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills.
• Basic computer proficiency including MS Office and data entry systems.
• Strong organizational and problem-solving abilities.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• Experience operating truck scale software, cash handling, waste/recycling, transportation, logistics, or environmental services; bilingual skills are a plus.

Responsibilities

• Operate computerized truck scale systems to process inbound and outbound vehicles.
• Verify customer information, account details, materials, and documentation.
• Process scale tickets, receipts, invoices, and transactions accurately.
• Collect payments and process cash, card, check, and account payments as needed.
• Provide guidance on disposal procedures, materials accepted, pricing, and facility operations.
• Identify and communicate questionable loads to Operations leadership.
• Maintain accurate transaction records and reports.
• Communicate with Operations leadership, dispatch, and equipment operators to support daily operations.
• Help maintain safe and efficient flow of customer traffic in the facility.
• Perform general clerical duties: data entry, filing, phones, recordkeeping.
• Keep scale house clean, organized, and professional.
• Identify and report customer concerns, safety hazards, or equipment issues.
• Team-oriented environment and exceptional customer service as core values.
