Job summary

SOLV Energy is seeking an experienced SCADA engineer to design, develop and deliver integrated control solutions for utility-scale solar, battery storage and high-voltage projects. You will implement standards, collaborate with cross-functional teams and support field commissioning across hybrid or remote sites.

Responsibilities include design, development, testing, and documentation of SCADA components, data historians, HMI assets, and PLC integration.

Qualifications

• 2–4 years of SCADA engineering experience in renewable energy including solar PV, BESS, or wind.
• Proficiency with Python programming language.
• Ignition SCADA platform experience (Inductive Automation).
• Relational databases and SCADA applications knowledge.
• Familiar with PLC hardware like RTAC, Control/CompactLogix, RX3i or similar environments.
• Familiar with SCADA network installation and commissioning including fiber optics and serial RS-232.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop SCADA integration components for utility-scale renewables.
• Define and implement product design standards with the team.
• Review project-specific requirements for the assigned scope.
• Create device points lists, HMI assets, test plans and closeout checklists.
• Program and commission SCADA servers, data historians, and HMIs.
• Review closeout docs to verify contractual deliverables.
• Provide intermediate technical support for diverse SCADA configurations.
• Participate in discussions with customers and partners.
• Maintain a centralized knowledge base.
• Use diagnostics to troubleshoot plant monitoring and control systems.
• Coordinate on-site commissioning with customers and field technicians.
• Learn software/hardware used by the organization.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams for platform data integration.
• Provide project status reports and support risk mitigation.
• Promote NERC compliance in programming and commissioning.
• Assist SOLV Operations with project integrations and handoffs.
