Job summary

Choiceone-Bank seeks an experienced SBA Loan Officer to manage end-to-end origination, underwriting, closing and servicing of SBA 7(a) and 504 loans in Michigan. You will coordinate with internal teams, perform credit analysis, and ensure SBA compliance throughout the loan process.

You will also mentor junior staff, support business deposit relationships, and help meet bank and department goals through effective collaboration and process improvement.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required or equivalent experience.
• 5 years’ experience with government loan programs.
• 1–3 years underwriting and management of commercial loans.
• Strong knowledge of SBA Guaranty programs.
• Excellent written and oral communication; public relations with customers.
• Proficiency in MS Office; ability to research and analyze information.

Responsibilities

• Originates and processes SBA 7(a) and 504 loan applications.
• Assesses borrower SBA eligibility and coordinates with SBA representatives.
• Prepares and submits complete loan packages to SBA for approval.
• Coordinates with internal departments and vendors to ensure timely closings.
• Monitors loan performance and assists with servicing and portfolio management.
• Ensures documentation is accurate, complete, and compliant with SBA and Bank standards.
