Job summary

U.S. Bank is seeking an SBA loan administrator focused on construction and renovation financing.

You will review transactions, ensure SBA 7(a)/504 compliance, and oversee documentation from approval to project completion, coordinating with Relationship Managers, Underwriters, and loan Administrators. The role supports owner‑occupied small business projects, including new construction and renovations, with duties spanning use‑of‑proceeds, lien perfection, and post‑approval conditions.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Typically two to three years of experience in commercial real estate loan administration, OR at least five years of transferable experience in commercial loan administration.
• SBA lending programs knowledge (7(a) and/or 504), including construction, renovation, and leasehold improvement financing.
• Familiarity with SBA authorization terms, use‑of‑proceeds rules, lien and collateral requirements, and disbursement controls.
• Experience with construction draw administration, including budget review, third‑party inspections, lien waivers, and title updates.
• Basic knowledge of collateral structures, multi‑phase construction, and loans secured by multiple collateral properties.
• Technical expertise in loan closing, documentation review, and post‑closing loan management.
• Basic knowledge of commercial finance, lending law, documentation, accounting principles, and loan data systems.
• Ability to meet requirements to be commissioned as a Notary Public.
• Bachelor’s degree preferred

Responsibilities

• Review, coordinate, and administer SBA construction and renovation loan transactions, ensuring compliance with SBA 7(a) and/or 504 program requirements, bank credit policy, and loan documentation standards.
• Oversee construction loan documentation, lien perfection, and the analysis, approval, and administration of construction draw disbursements from loan approval through project completion and final servicing conversion.
• Support owner‑occupied small business projects, including new construction, renovations, tenant improvements, and expansions for SBA‑eligible properties.
• Work in close partnership with Relationship Managers, SBA Underwriters, and Loan Administrators, serving as the primary liaison with borrowers, attorneys, construction consultants, title companies, and SBA service providers.
• Ensure adherence to SBA authorization terms, eligibility requirements, use‑of‑proceeds limitations, and post‑approval conditions.
• Must meet requirements to be commissioned as a Notary Public.
