Job summary

CesiumAstro is seeking a Communication Systems Engineer Modeling & Simulation II to design, develop, integrate, and test advanced communications systems for satellite and airborne platforms. Qualifications

• Bachelor's or master's degree in a related engineering field with 2–5 years of experience in communications systems engineering or related disciplines.
• Working knowledge of systems engineering principles, requirements development, and interface management.
• Experience with modeling, analysis tools, simulation methods, and engineering analysis techniques.
• Familiarity with digital communications, RF fundamentals, networking concepts, and system integration.
• Proficiency with MATLAB/Simulink, Python, and engineering documentation tools like DOORS/Jira/Confluence.

Responsibilities

• Assist design and development of communications system architectures, interfaces, subsystems, and performance models.
• Conduct system modeling, link analysis, performance evaluation, simulations, and integration activities.
• Review requirements, interface specs, and technical docs supporting system implementation.
• Contribute to a digital modelling/simulation ecosystem for architecture trade studies and new business efforts.
• Identify opportunities to streamline modeling processes and enable reuse of techniques.
• Perform verification, validation, testing, and troubleshooting activities.
• Analyze results to identify trends and recommend solutions.
• Support engineering changes, defect resolution, and corrective actions.
• Collaborate across cross-functional teams during product development.
