Job summary

CesiumAstro is seeking a Staff Communication Systems Modeling & Simulation engineer to lead design, development, and validation of communications systems for satellites and airborne platforms. You will apply advanced systems engineering to resolve complex integration issues from concept to production, collaborating across software, RF, electrical, mechanical, and quality teams.

You will model architectures, conduct trade studies, and drive reproducible processes with tools like MATLAB, Simulink,

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree or higher in a relevant engineering field with substantial experience in systems engineering and architecture.
Advanced knowledge of communications systems and system integration processes.
Proficiency with modeling, simulation tools, and engineering analysis methods.
Experience with DOORS, Jira, Confluence for requirements and collaboration.

Responsibilities

Lead design and development of communications system architectures, interfaces, and subsystems.
Guide system modeling, link analysis, performance evaluation, and trade studies.
Develop architectures and solutions meeting product, customer, and interoperability requirements.
Lead workflow automation and reuse across programs and product lines.
Coordinate across systems, software, RF, electrical, mechanical, and test teams.
Prepare technical documentation, verification reports, and engineering change documentation.
Lead design reviews, investigations, and customer discussions.
Promote engineering standards and best practices across projects.
