Job summary

RFCUNY is seeking an In-Person High School Instructor at Baruch College to lead SAT Math Preparation for upper-class students, with a daily schedule from 10:35am to 12pm. You will plan original curriculum, assess student progress, and maintain attendance records.

The role requires a strong mathematics background and teaching experience, with a focus on creative, engaging lessons for adolescents. A mathematics degree is preferred. This is an on-site position at Baruch STEP Academy.

Qualifications

  • Availability for each program day from 10:30am-12pm.
  • Strong background in the subject area.
  • Experience in a teaching capacity within the subject area.
  • Experience with designing/implementing a course curriculum.
  • Have a strong classroom management style.
  • Preferred: Degree in mathematics or related subject.
  • Preferred: Ability to engage students with creative lessons and interpersonal skills with adolescents.

The Baruch STEP Academy is an academic enrichment program focusing on STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) education and providing college preparation. Managed through the CUNY Research Foundation, we serve 200 middle and high school students throughout the city each year.

Position:

In-Person High School Instructor

Course Title:

SAT Math Preparation | Schedule: 10:35am-12pm

Course Description:

The course will prepare upper class high school students for the math section (Geometry, Trigonometry, Algebra I and II) of the SAT. Test taking tips and strategies that will be reviewed.

Summary of Responsibilities
  • Plan and teach original course curriculum

  • Other duties as assigned

    • Enthusiasm for the subject with flexibility in adjusting curriculum to reflect students' abilities
    Pay Range:

    $45 per hour
