Job summary

Baruch STEP Academy in New York City seeks an in-person High School In-Person Instructor to teach Immunology & Human Health, 10:35am–12pm, for a 20–22 student class. You will prepare and deliver engaging biology content and assess student learning within a supportive STEM enrichment program.

The role requires a strong biology background, teaching experience, and ability to adapt curricula. Occasional collaboration with Baruch College staff and flexible approach to instruction are valued.

Qualifications

  • Background in biology or related subject area.
  • Experience teaching high school or undergraduate students preferred.
  • Ability to design and implement course curriculum and assessments.
  • Strong classroom management and student engagement skills.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and teach curriculum for 20–22 students.
  • Evaluate student and group performance with assessments.
  • Provide staff with measurable results in student learning.
  • Monitor and maintain attendance records.
  • Reassess curriculum based on student needs and understanding.
  • Handle other duties as assigned.

Students will look at the cells, organs, and molecules that defend the body from bacteria, viruses, fungi, and parasites.
