Job summary

The RFCUNY Research Foundation of The City University of New York is seeking a High School Math Instructor for in-person sessions at Baruch College. The role runs Saturdays during Fall 2026, teaching Geometry Review to 15-18 students from 9:00 to 10:25 am, with emphasis on Regents exam preparation.

Responsibilities include lesson planning, delivering engaging geometry lessons, assessing student progress, tracking attendance, and adapting curriculum to student needs.

Qualifications

• Availability for each program day from 9am–10:25am.
• Strong background in geometry.
• Experience in teaching geometry.
• Experience designing and implementing geometry workshop/curriculum.
• Strong classroom management.
• Preferred: degree in STEM or education.
• Prior tutoring or teaching experience with high school.

The STEP Academy at Baruch College (a STEM academic enrichment and college preparation program) has several open instructor positions for the fall semester.

The Fall 2026 Program runs for 10 Saturdays: October 3 through December 12, excluding November 28.

Please note: These courses are non-credit, introductory and culminating workshop series. Participants do not receive an official grade.

Interview request for eligible candidates will start in early September.

High School Math Instructor (In-Person)

Course Title: Geometry Review

Schedule: 9am-10:25am

Course Description: This course will review topics from the NYSED curriculum in the preparation for the June 2027 regents exam.

Additional Information: This introductory, first semester course is designed for students who already passed Algebra 1 and/or will take a geometry course at their schools this fall.

Summary of Responsibilities

• Prior experience with designing and implementing a geometry workshop series/curriculum
• Have a strong classroom management style
• Preferred: Degree in a STEM or education
• Prior tutoring or teaching experience with high school
• Ability to engage students with creative lessons and innovative teaching style
• Possess good interpersonal skills with adolescents and a strong understanding of their maturity levels
• Enthusiasm for the subject with flexibility in adjusting curriculum to reflect students' abilities

Pay Range

$45 hourly
