Job summary

The Baruch STEP Academy at Baruch College is seeking an in-person high school instructor to teach SAT Math preparation from Geometry to Algebra II, with test-taking strategies. Schedule: 10:35am–12:00pm on weekdays.

You will plan original course curriculum, evaluate student progress, and maintain attendance. Ideal candidates will have strong subject knowledge, classroom management, and the ability to adapt lessons for high school students.

Qualifications

  • Strong background in the subject area.
  • Experience in a teaching capacity within the subject area.
  • Experience with designing/implementing a course curriculum.
  • Have a strong classroom management style.
  • Possess good interpersonal skills with adolescents.
  • Enthusiasm for the subject with flexibility in adjusting curriculum to reflect students' abilities.

Responsibilities

  • Plan and teach original course curriculum.
  • Evaluate student and group performance.
  • Provide staff with measurable results in student learning through assessments.
  • Monitor and maintain student attendance records.
  • Reassess curriculum based on student needs, interest, and understanding of material.
  • Other duties as assigned.
