This role emphasizes leadership, client service, and business development, with opportunities to mentor staff and shape a fast-growing practice across nexus, credits, incentives, and property tax.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting required.
• Masters in Taxation, LLM CPA and/or JD, CMI or EA certification required.
• 10+ year(s) experience in state and local tax.
• 5+ year(s) of supervisory experience, mentoring and counseling associates desired.
• Eligibility to work in the U.S., without sponsorship, highly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide strategic state and local tax consulting to middle market and Fortune 500 clients.
• Manage multi-state reviews covering income, franchise, sales and use taxes to optimize options.
• Research nexus, taxability analyses and potential liabilities.
• Counsel on state tax controversies and prepare ruling requests.
• Plan and execute tax projects including due diligence and voluntary disclosure.
• Develop technical memoranda on SALT issues.
• Maintain client communication and propose process improvements.
• Support engagement staffing, billing and profitability targets.
• Build relationships with clients and the community.
• Invest in professional development and mentorship.
