Job summary

Belk’s Salon Retail Coordinator manages the front desk operations, reports to the Salon Manager, and works to ensure guests feel valued. The role emphasizes retail sales, service cross-selling, and professional handling of client interactions with a focus on schedule flexibility and positive guest experiences.

The position emphasizes customer service excellence, professional presentation, and adherence to salon guidelines, while supporting sales goals and ongoing product knowledge development.

Qualifications

• GED or High School diploma is required.
• Proficient in computer-based business software is expected.
• Ability to handle money, count and make change.
• Customer Service or Cosmetic industry experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Suggesting retail products to all clients, upselling/suggesting larger quantities, promotions and additional services.
• Ability to cross-sell services to other areas of the salon.
• Responding professionally to customer service issues and promptly addressing complaints.
• Exhibiting good communication skills when dealing with a difficult or corrective service situation.
• Overcoming booking mistakes or corrective work.
• Ensuring that refunds and re-do’s are handled in a professional and friendly manner.
• Ongoing personal continuing education on products, services, and current issues relating to the industry.
• Promoting business outside of the salon.
• Adjusting schedule to meet client needs.
