Job summary

PetSmart is seeking a Salon Experience Lead (Groomer & Salon Trainer) to deliver high-quality grooming services and to develop the skills of bathers and new stylists. The role supports a high-performing team while upholding PetSmart’s vision, values, and standards.

The candidate will lead grooming sessions, supervise salon operations, and play a key role in training through the grooming development program. This position emphasizes customer care and service quality.

Qualifications

• 2+ years grooming experience; may be asked to complete a technical exam.
• Full time availability; flexibility for evenings, weekends and holidays.
• Proficiency with grooming tools, equipment and products for safe, quality work.
• Proficiency in computer applications.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to stay calm under pressure and maintain safety.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, especially safety.

Responsibilities

• Lead and train bathers and stylists through the grooming development program.
• Facilitate associate onboarding, mentoring, coaching, and performance feedback.
• Identify candidates for academy training to become stylists.
• Manage daily salon tasks and delegate responsibilities as needed.
• Address associate complaints and drive engagement and retention.
• Promote salon services to grow sales and achieve targets.
