Job summary

PetSmart’s Salon Experience Lead (Groomer & Salon Trainer) leads a high-performing grooming team and supports a comprehensive development program for bathers and stylists. The role focuses on delivering quality pet grooming services while upholding PetSmart’s standards and values.

The position involves coaching associates through certification, improving the pet parent experience, and driving salon sales and appointments. Full-time, on-site availability is required across shifts.

Qualifications

• 2+ years grooming experience; Full time availability; Proficiency with tools, equipment and products to perform technical work safely.
• Proficiency in computer applications.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to react under pressure and maintain composure.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail and safety measures.

Responsibilities

• Facilitates associate experience and supports development through training, onboarding, mentoring, coaching and performance feedback.
• Develops new and existing associates through bather/stylist certification; identifies candidates for academy training.
• Delegate and verify daily salon tasks; address associate grievances; celebrate engaged associates.
• Enhance pet parent experience across phone, in-store, and online interactions; drive rebooking and wellness recommendations.
• Promote salon sales and meet grooming targets; ensure grooming standards, cleanliness and humane care of pets.
