PetSmart’s Salon Experience Lead (Groomer & Salon Trainer) oversees premier grooming services and develops a high-performing team to deliver exceptional care to pets. The role supports the grooming program, trains bathers and stylists, and ensures adherence to PetSmart’s standards and policies.

The position emphasizes people development, customer engagement, and consistent service quality, with opportunities to lead expansions of salon services and contribute to store growth.

Qualifications

• 2+ years grooming experience.
• Full time availability; flexible evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
• Proficiency with tools, equipment and products for safe technical work.
• Proficiency in computer applications.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to react under pressure and maintain composure.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to safety.

Responsibilities

• Facilitates associate experience and supports development through training, onboarding, mentoring and coaching.
• Develops new and existing associates through bather and stylist certification.
• Identifies candidates for academy training to become stylists.
• Delegates and validates daily salon tasks; ensures policy compliance.
• Addresses and administers associate feedback, complaints and Performance reviews.
• Promotes salon sales and drives key metrics; maintains grooming quality and pet safety.
• Maintains cleanliness, sanitation and humane conditions in grooming areas.
