PetSmart’s Salon Experience Lead (Groomer & Salon Trainer) is responsible for delivering high‑quality grooming services and building a strong, capable team of bathers and stylists. The role focuses on pet care, training, and supporting a high‑performing salon aligned with PetSmart’s values and standards.

The position emphasizes developing staff through the grooming certification path, maintaining outstanding customer experiences, and driving salon sales while upholding safety and welfare for all

Qualifications

• 2+ years grooming experience; may be asked to complete a technical exam.
• Full time availability required, flexibility in schedule, able to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
• Proficiency with use of tools, equipment and products to perform technical work safely.
• Proficiency in computer applications.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to react under pressure and maintain composure.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail and safety measures.

Responsibilities

• Facilitates the associate experience and supports development through training, onboarding, mentoring and coaching.
• Helps develop new and existing associates through bather/stylist certification.
• Delegates and validates daily salon tasks; supports performance reviews and promotions.
• Maintains salon standards and ensures policy compliance; supports growth of salon sales.
• Performs full menu of grooming services and promotes services and merchandise.
• Maintains cleanliness, sanitation and humane conditions for pets in grooming areas.
