Job summary

The Michaels location in Gastonia, NC is seeking a Sales Manager to lead a high-performing selling culture across the store. You will drive sales results, oversee front-end and service operations, and coach the team to deliver exceptional Customer Experience in alignment with brand standards.

This role requires 3+ years of retail leadership, strong coaching, and hands-on experience with POS and Self-Checkout systems.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Assist Store Manager in leading and managing adherence to SOPs and Company programs.
• Ensure execution of Company policies and standards, holding team accountable for store conditions and results.
• Model and coach Customer Experience and ART of Selling behaviors to drive conversion and customer satisfaction.
• Provide Manager-on-Duty (MOD) coverage, maintaining floor leadership and service standards.
• Ensure accurate and efficient use of POS and Self-Checkout systems for smooth transactions.
• Oversee in-store programs and events such as Balloons, birthday party operations.
• Promote and enroll customers in the Loyalty Rewards Program to drive retention.
• Champion MCC/Extend services and customer adoption of protection plans.
• Drive sales and omni-channel service in the Knit & Sew Shop including Cut Bar experience.
• Support Custom Framing operations with consultations and frame shop coordination.
• Train and develop team members through structured onboarding and ongoing skill-building.
• Partner in maintaining Asset Protection practices to reduce shrink through awareness and safety.
