Seeking a Strategic Account Manager - Remote

Position Summary:

ADM is looking for a talented and competitive team member who thrives in a fast-paced, complex sales environment with a high drive to excel. The individual will be responsible for selling food flavorings, ingredients, and solutions from the ADM Nutrition portfolio to customers in North America, focusing on business-to-business sales to producers of savory and sweet goods, dairy foods, wellness products, and beverages. The role involves building new business, growing sales with existing customers, and maintaining their base year over year.

The successful candidate will collaborate closely with customers on product development, cost-effectiveness, and quality initiatives to drive growth, working with cross-functional teams including technical, marketing, financial, food regulation, and business leadership. They will also define technical support needed to meet customer demands, executing projects in collaboration with flavor, color, and specialty ingredient teams.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Sourcing and managing new sales opportunities through inbound and outbound efforts, promoting the entire ADM Nutrition portfolio.
  2. Preparing targeted account plans and executing sales strategies.
  3. Maintaining high customer satisfaction through constant contact.
  4. Building rapport with cross-functional teams such as CD&D, Regulatory, Customer Service, Procurement, and Legal.
  5. Managing customer relationships, including sample management, project oversight, and follow-up.
  6. Implementing proactive call schedules to increase customer engagement.
  7. Using web-based tools like Salesforce to track quotes, sales, and activities.
  8. Adhering to company policies, procedures, and ethical standards.
  9. Maintaining thorough product knowledge of nutrition ingredients.

Minimum Requirements:

  1. Undergraduate degree.
  2. 5-7 years of account management experience in the flavor/ingredient industry (preferred).
  3. Ability to build relationships with customers and internal teams.
  4. Excellent communication skills.
  5. Experience with CRM systems like Salesforce.
  6. Strong organizational, time management, and negotiation skills.
  7. Willingness to travel within North America up to 50%.
