Job summary

Madison LLC is seeking an Assistant Store Manager to drive sales and elevate the customer experience across our retail locations in New York. The role supports store strategy, aligns the team with corporate values, and oversees opening/closing, inventory, and visual merchandising.

The ASM leads by example in sales, coaches staff, and helps recruit and onboard new team members. This position typically requires 32–40 hours per week to meet business needs.

Qualifications

• Experience in retail management, preferably 1+ year in Assistant Manager roles.
• Strong sales focus with leadership and coaching abilities.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Proficient with POS systems, MS Word, Excel, and email.
• Must be able to lift up to 40 pounds and use ladders.

Responsibilities

• Exceed personal and store sales goals and mentor team members.
• Devise and implement sales strategies to optimize revenue and customer experience.
• Capture and manage client information (phone, email, address).
• Address customer needs and objections with effective problem-solving.
• Demonstrate knowledge of store merchandise, pricing, and stockroom layout.
• Maintain high housekeeping and visual merchandising standards; use systems (POS/CRM).
• Enforce loss prevention policies and inventory controls.
• Assist Store Manager in coaching and mentoring employees.
• Collaborate in recruitment and onboarding of new staff.
